What Exactly is Bruin Woods?
From late June through mid-August, our historic resort on sparkling Lake Arrowhead transforms into a lively summer destination, where families have a blast making memories in the fresh mountain air. Choose one of our weekly sessions to join us for a picture-perfect family adventure you’ll be reminiscing about year-round! With 50 wooded, mountain acres to explore, your entire family will find something to brag about when you return home.
Recognizing that many families may want to continue to enjoy a full week at Lake Arrowhead, we are delighted to offer an optional seventh night (Saturday night through Sunday) for families for an additional fee who wish to extend their stay. On this day, there will not be any scheduled programs available, but families can participate in activities on the property together, such as arts & crafts, bike rentals, tennis, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and pool time with certified lifeguards will be available. On this day, children must be supervised by their parents or guardians at all times. We will also continue to provide a three-meal buffet and dining at the Bear & Grill for your enjoyment.

Check-in is on Sunday afternoon, check-out is the following Saturday morning.
2026 Rates
Rates include lodging, meals and all programming for 6-nights. Taxes and fees are not included.

Premium Room Fees
A location fee applies to designated premium rooms and stand-alone houses:
- Rooms 31–49: $500 location fee
- Willow Creek & Geneva: $600 location fee
- Briar Creek: $900 location fee
Optional Night 7 Add On Rates
An optional seventh night (Saturday night through Sunday) is available for an additional fee for families who wish to extend their stay. Rates include lodging and meals - no programming will be offered on the optional night. Taxes and fees are not included.
Visitor Rates
Visitors may be family or friends who are unable to attend the full week and must stay in the registered family’s room. Visitor fees are charged per night, up to a maximum of three nights, and must be paid upon arrival with the hosting family present to authorize the visit. Taxes and fees are not included.
At UCLA Bruin Woods…
Your 6-night, all-inclusive vacation package comes complete with comfortable lodging and award-winning chef-prepared meals as well as programs for all ages, including outdoor recreational activities, group adventures for the kids, and special activities for teenagers and adults! Some additional activities, like arts & crafts, and dining at the Bear & Grill and the North Shore Tavern, will have supplemental charges. We also will have movies and other complimentary activities on certain scheduled days over the course of the summer.
You can rest easy knowing that your children are being chaperoned by our extraordinary team of UCLA students who were carefully chosen for the important role of camp counselor. Each counselor is hand-selected from a competitive pool of cream-of-the-crop UCLA students who exhibit a genuine love of children, the desire to be exemplary role models, and professional skill sets appropriate for our family camp setting. And as parents, you can choose to just relax or participate in many of the programs specially designed especially for adults!
Eligibility Requirements
Enrollment is limited to UCLA alumnus/alumna or current faculty or staff of UCLA only. One person per sleeping room must be a UCLA alumnus/alumna or current UCLA system staff or faculty.
By applying to attend Bruin Woods, attendees agree to accept the eligibility conditions of the program.
